Summer Camp
For those of you new to Morgandale Meadows, we opened our business in 1991. We were actively giving horse drawn weddings, doing parades and giving riding lessons.
In 2003, we opened our farm to small groups of kids and started our summer camp program. We take in about 8 kids a week and treat them as if they were our own. Their activities for the week include hiking, swimming, crafts, and of course horseback riding. The more advanced the camper, the more we teach them about the horses. We have fields and trails, as well as the indoor arena for the days when the weather might decide not to cooperate.
The kids help with the chores, collect eggs and groom the animals. Overall, our goal is to give your child an experience they will remember and cherish, new friends, new experiences and all with a Christian atmosphere.
Your camper will learn to care for, as well as assist in training a horse, so their riding skills will grow as their basic knowledge of horses grow. They will have hands on with the young ones, in hopes that they will have a better understanding of what horses think and why they act like they do!!!
Riding of course, will be according to their skills. All care will be given to try to match up levels as well as age in each group of campers. No one will be left behind as individual attention will be given to each camper.
We are excited to welcome our campers for the 2010 season. We are planning on the week of July 11th for our older girls and the week of July 18th for younger ones. We will add more weeks as we get more applications. We try very hard to schedule campers according to age and abilities and really appreciate your help in getting the application here early so that process can be done in a timely fashion. I thank all of you for being so patient. We are SO excited to be able to take the kids one more time and share what we have been blessed to have!!!
Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis, and assignments will be made as the applications come in. The application is for 2009 (I know). Please just fill the top part in and I will call you with dates!! Please contact Kathy at morgandale@hughes.net with questions.
